Fables in Kent

On November 20, 2024, we organised an in-person fable writing workshop called ‘Writing Environmental Fables in Kent’ at the University of Kent, in which we invited the participants to share and write a fable which addresses environmental issues close to their heart. Please see below a link to the video about the event. Thanks so much to the Indian writer Shreyasi Sharma for facilitating this workshop, and we are delighted to feature three fables that emerged from it: one by Kent writer Susan Pope; another by Kent-based creative PhD student Dora Flood; and a third by Adedayo Sadiku, from Kent County Council, whose fable is about her public health project. At the workshop, the local artist Nicole Mollett kindly gave us permission to show her map of Kent, which magically shows our county to be a place of bestiaries and animal stories. I have included a link to further information about this map.
